Palácio Sant'Ana

This neo-classical French-style building, built in the 19th century, is surrounded by a beautiful garden of exotic trees and since 1980 has been the seat of the Presidency of the Regional Government of the Azores.

This magnificent palace has stunning rooms with examples of Azorean decorative arts and paintings invoking the visit of King D. Carlos and Queen D. Amélia in 1901. Special attention is given to the impressive furnishings of the 18th century dining room, richly ornamented with panels of tile and carvings.

Situated in the northeast corner of the splendid private park of José do Canto Park, this magical palace is surrounded by a splendid flora display of the archipelago, making it one of the largest botanical gardens on the island.

The Sant'Ana Palace and José do Canto Park is truly an oasis that should not be missed while visiting the Green Island.
